Classes: The Sacraments

Our Lenten class this year will focus on the sacraments. There was a request to look at an alternative time for Christian education for adults being on Sunday morning. The only time that is available to us to do that would be after the coffee hour period. What we’ll plan to do is start the class right at noon. Certainly people can continue to eat and enjoy coffee hour but we will ask those who wish to remain and talk and not be part of the class to allow us this experiment. The exact same class will be offered the next Wednesday. There’s absolutely no reason to come to both courses unless you really enjoy them because it’s going to be the same data and we ask that you would seriously consider attending one.

Mar 9/12              Class 1   Sacraments in General

Mar 16 / 19         Class 2  Baptism

Mar 23/ 26          Class 3 Eucharist I

Mar 30 / Apr 2   Class 4 Eucharist II

Apr 6 / 9               Class 5 Other 5 Sacraments

Below you will find a list of Holy Week services. The first thing that should be obvious is an extension of our normal calendar–we’ll be doing more services than we have in the past. Because of increased resources (two priests, a deacon, and Jesse Pyle who is a new parishioner on the ordination track) we have a plethora of people to lead worship. So we’re going all out. We’re going to try everything that we can think would be a normal part of a Holy Week service at a church with the access to multiple leaders of worship. Obviously this may not always be the case and we ask you as always to vote with your feet. If you really want to see what one of these services is like, please come. We’re going to look at the book that records all of our attendants when we decide what to do next year so these courses and these services this year will play a role in our decision making process.
